Visa Information

UNESCO Chair in Technologies for Development: Voices of the Global South
27-29 June 2018 | SwissTech Convention Centre | EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland

It is the responsibility of each participant to obtain the required entry visa for Switzerland. Visas must be obtained prior to arrival.

As visa requirements vary for each country, please contact the nearest Swiss Embassy, Consulate or travel agency for more information.

In addition, those who do not fly directly to Switzerland should note that a transit visa might be required for some countries in order to continue their travel to Switzerland.

If a letter of invitation is needed for the visa application, the Conference Secretariat can send this upon request.

Visa invitation letters will only be issued after payment and receipt of the conference registration fees. Please note that the Conference Organizers are not authorized to issue visa invitation letters for accompanying guests, unless they are full registered paying participants at the conference.

There will be no reimbursement of the conference registration fees for any cancellations received after issuance of a visa invitation letter.

When contacting the Secretariat, please be sure to provide a scanned copy of your passport.

Note that cancellation after receipt of a visa invitation letter or suspected cases of abuse will be reported to the local Swiss Embassy or Consulate.

The letter of invitation does not represent a commitment on the part of the Conference Organizers to provide financial support.
