During the 2013-2016 phase, EPFL Leading House leaded exploratory activities with Vietnam, as part of the mandate for South-East Asia commissioned by the SERI. This was done in collaboration with ETH as Leading House for the Asia Pacific region.
The overall aim of this shared mandate was to explore new strategic partnerships in the Asia-Pacific region as the most dynamic part of the world with respect to economic growth, science development and innovation. This was carried out through a comprehensive and professional exploration and by providing information about emerging countries in the region.
Together with Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand, Vietnam was one of the countries under exploration, and it is one that is of major interest to the Swiss scientific community.
Various activities were carried out during the 2013-2016 phase for promoting collaboration with the focus countries, including calls for pilot activities and Seed Money projects.
