Following the exploratory mission to Mexico undertaken by State Secretary Mauro Dell’Ambrogio in September 2011, one pilot project between the School of Management of Technology at EPFL and the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) was granted in 2012.
Intelligent governance of large urban systems: a model for Latin American and European cities
This project develops a qualitative model for the governance of large urban systems using information and communication technologies and implying citizens and users in governance of the urban infrastructures (energy, transport, water and environmental services). It takes its point of departure in the city of Guadalajara in Mexico, and further tests the framework with comparable Latin American and European cities to develop a model that can be tested globally at a larger stage.
