Modelling response of seasonal snow cover to climate change: a study based on field observations and modelling in arid and semi‐arid Andes of central Chile

High-elevation, snowmelt driven mountainous watersheds dominate the hydrology of major portions of the Chilean territory. This project aims at: 1) studying, in semi-arid Andean basins, snowpack evolution and its relation with mass and energy forcings; and 2) modelling its response to a changing climate. The project achieves this objective through a combination of fieldwork and advanced climatological, hydrological and glaciological numerical models.
