Grants for Joint Research Projects are meant to promote collaborative projects with clearly defined goals involving at least one Swiss and one Indian partner. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches.

Material Sciences & Nanotechnologies
Human Health and Medical Sciences, restricted to the following well-defined subfields:
Infectious biology including innovative and safe vaccine development
Proposals outside of the research fields defined above will not be accepted.
Applicants should Swiss and Indian citizens or permanent residents of Switzerland and India with a stable/regular appointment as a faculty member at an eligible Swiss/Indian university or research institute. Eligible proposers in Switzerland: Swiss federal institutes of technology, cantonal universities of higher education, federal and cantonal research institutions, Swiss universities of applied sciences, other research institutions eligible for receiving federal funding.
- Grant information
The selected projects will be funded for up to 36 months and will receive a maximum support of CHF 250’000 per project. A detailed budget will be required. Projected expenses must be justified and related to the proposed research activities. The Total Swiss budget allocated to the third phase of the ISJRP amounts to CHF 2 million (subject to approval by the Swiss parliament).
Proposals must be prepared jointly by the Swiss and Indian applicants and must be submitted in Switzerland (www.mysnf.ch) and India (DST) simultaneously with the following application forms: PART 1: Administrative Data (India only), PART 2: Research Plan.
