From 2005 to 2012 the Indo Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP) developed its activities in three consecutive phases (first phase: 2005-2007; second phase: 2008-2011; third phase: 2012).
In each phase, ISJRP offered grants for Joint Research Projects (JRP), which supported projects involving Swiss and Indian partners for a duration of 2-3 years. The projects were granted based on the principles of scientific excellence, mutual benefit and sustainability. Interdisciplinary projects with ambitious goals and innovative approaches were funded.
Calls for other types of projects and for faculty exchanges were also launched.
In Switzerland, the funding instruments were managed by EPFL Leading House, in collaboration with UNIL as Associated Leading House for the activities in social sciences..
