The Brazilian-Swiss Joint Research Programme – BSJRP

As part of Switzerland’s strategy to promote bilateral cooperation with non-European countries, the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) commissioned EPFL as the Leading House for the development and coordination of the Brazilean-Swiss Joint Research Programme (BSJRP) from 2008 to 2016 (since 2012 officially as Leading House, following a pilot phase between 2008-2011).

The Leading House mandate included the promotion of scientific and academic cooperation with Brazil in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCTI) and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).

The Action Plan signed in 2009 established Joint Research Projects (JRP) as the main instrument for bilateral cooperation, with Calls launched in 2010 and 2011.

As part of the Action Plan signed in 2013, EPFL Leading House implemented new funding instruments including the Academia-Industry TrainingSeed Money and Flash projects
