Chilean-Swiss Joint Research Programme (CSJRP)
The Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER) funded the Chilean-Swiss Joint Research Programme (CSJRP) between 2009 and 2012 through a reciprocity matching fund.
Considered by the Swiss Federal Council as one of the countries with a high potential for scientific and technological development, Chile was a focus country for the SER during the 2009-2012 period.
The Action Plan signed in Santiago de Chile on 26 June 2008 between both countries determined the Chilean-Swiss science and technology cooperation strategy to be implemented by the SER and the Chilean National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT).
The overall budget of 1.8 million CH for the 4-years period was based on a reciprocity matching fund. The cooperation focused in the areas of energy, environment and climate change, with instruments funding joint research projects and researchers exchange and mobility.
