Call for Joint Research projects 2011 – 2012

  • Description of the call for JRP

The JRP call aims to support collaborative research with clearly defined goals involving at least one Swiss and one Brazilian scientists.

  • Priority research areas

The following fields of cooperation were agreed in academic and industrial science and technology on basic, applied and market-oriented research and development:
a) Energy and environment, with focus on « renewable energies »;
b) Health and environment, with focus on « neglected diseases » and « nutrition and functional food ».

  •  Eligibility

Applications must be submitted jointly by one (or more) Swiss and one (or more) Brazilian faculty from an institution with research track record.
In Switzerland, such institutions include :
Swiss federal institutes of technology, cantonal universities of higher education, federal and cantonal research institutions, Swiss universities of applied science, international research institutions located in Switzerland and non / for-profit research organization (please see below the list of the eligible Swiss partners).

  • Grant Information

It is envisioned that grants for these 2-year project should be max CHF 200 000 for the Swiss applicants.
A detailed budget is required. Projected expenses must be justified and related to the proposed research activities.

  • Coordination offices

Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) agreed upon the timetable of the second joint call for proposals.
