A Swiss Network of Scientific Diasporas

Skilled migrants from Colombia, India and South Africa in Switzerland

The project « A Swiss Network of Scientific Diasporas to enforce the role of highly skilled migrants as development partners » provides a better understanding of the potential of skilled migrants as agents of development by focussing on their transnational brain gain practices in benefit of home countries. It studies the scientific diasporas of Colombia, India and South Africa in Switzerland.

The study was done by CODEV in partnership with International Labour Office (ILO), University of Geneva (UNIGE), Swiss Forum for Migration and Population Studies (SFM), and University of Lausanne (UNIL).

The project was funded by the Geneva International Academic Network (GIAN) and was implemented between 2006 and 2008.
