Cooperation and Development Annual Conference 2006

Scientific cooperation research: a chance for development?

EPFL - Room CM4

23rd of November 2006

The aim of the second EPFL scientific cooperation and development conference is to support the idea that scientific collaboration between the North and South leads to a positive change for development. Collaborations enable institutions from industrialised as well as from developing or emerging economies to address fundamental societal issues, while promoting high-level research and education to foster appropriate scientific, technological and organisational innovation. This conference will underline the potential and the need for scientific cooperation, by blending together talks on specific cooperation issues, given by eminent members of our newly created International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) with concrete examples of research projects, which have been launched in the EPFL by the Swiss Cooperation Agency (SDC) and EPFL research fund .
